This year, our Oximio family in Ukraine, will be joining forces with the Inspiration Family Cancer Foundation and running to help save and improve the quality of life for those fighting breast cancer.
Did you know that each year there are 500,000 new cases of breast cancer diagnosed in Europe. Sadly, 125,000 people will die from the disease. In Ukraine, 1 in 8 women will face breast cancer. The last year has been particularly challenging for those suffering from the disease in Ukraine due to the conflict with Russia. The full-scale invasion by the Russian army has seen the destruction of more than 300 medical institutions. For those living in occupied territories, cancer treatment has been impossible with patients unable to gain access to medication, hospitals, and vital medical care.
As we #StandWithUkraine, the Think Pink Europe umbrella organisation will be uniting organisations to participate in the largest charity race in Europe to support women with breast cancer.
Our Ukraine team will be proud to take part in the event and will run with pride alongside patients, their relatives, oncologists, athletes and other medical and state representatives.
