Ukraine Import/Export Requirements for Medical Equipment Containing Ozone-Depleting Substances
Effective from April 2024, an update to the Resolution of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine #1402 has been made which affects the import and export of medical equipment containing ozone-depleting substances and fluorinated greenhouse gases.
It states that all equipment, including clinical trial equipment such as centrifuges, freezers, and refrigerators, must undergo customs terminal clearance with visual inspection to determine the quantity of these regulated substances.
This update also affects the import and export of previously imported equipment. While we have successfully transitioned many customers to equipment not subject to import licences (IL), we recognise the need to address situations where exporting existing equipment becomes necessary.
We have already initiated the process of obtaining import/export licenses for these substances which typically takes approximately 2 months.
Below is a list of substances that are restricted to import and export without an Import/Export Licence:
The update specifies that even if a single component within a shipment falls under this list, the entire shipment will require an import licence. Substances R-717, R-744, R-600, R-600а, and R-290 are not subject to IL/EL in Ukraine.
At Oximio, we are committed to providing a smooth and efficient import and export process for all our customers. Please contact us for further information if you require support with your clinical trial.
