For many of us, enjoying a warm meal is a simple pleasure we often take for granted. But for some, this basic necessity remains out of reach. Oximio, Georgia, proudly stepped up to sponsor an Easter dinner, organised by the International Humanitarian Union Catharsis, dedicated to those facing food insecurity and a lack of basic needs. Catharsis, a pioneering, nonprofit organization in Georgia, has been a source of comfort to those less fortunate, since its inception before the fall of the Soviet Union. Their mission, supported by both public and private sectors, aims to uplift the vulnerable in our society.
With the generous support of approximately 1,000 private businesses and over 100 organisations, including Oximio, Catharsis extends a helping hand to socially disadvantaged seniors, ensuring they have access to nourishing meals. Oximio, Georgia, has been offering its support to this excellent cause since 2018, sponsoring two meals annually – at Easter and Christmas – reaching out to around 300 individuals in need. Recently, with the war in Ukraine, those numbers now include families from Ukraine, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to expanding its reach and making a difference to more lives.
At the latest dinner event, two volunteers from Oximio were happy to lend a hand serving meals, exemplifying the spirit of community and compassion. Reflecting on this worthwhile initiative, Tamar Bolkvadze said, “This sponsorship goes beyond just providing food. It’s about restoring dignity and hope to those who need it most. We are humbled to be a part of such a vital mission and look forward to continuing our support.”
